Ulteig’s 2020 Year in Review

This Year in Review publication highlights Ulteig’s outstanding results in 2020, driven by our clients’ goals and the bold steps we are taking to invest in our future.

Looking back on a year of unparalleled change, one thing was constant: the dedication of the Ulteig team to meet the needs of clients when it mattered most. When our typical ways of working together were no longer safe, we found creative solutions to leverage new technologies, maintain strong partnerships and deliver the same high level of service that has supported our clients’ success and fueled our continued growth.


Through the uncertainty created by the pandemic in 2020, we remained focused on maintaining our strong culture while we worked remotely, without compromising our ability to deliver on our commitments. We found ourselves adapting and thriving, setting year-over-year growth records again in orders and net service revenue (23%). In a year where contraction was more the norm, we expanded our reach with 27% of our orders coming from new clients. And through it all, our employees remained our primary source for finding new talent, with 38% of our open positions filled through employee referrals. I am extremely proud of our team’s agility as we pivoted to ensure our clients could keep their focus on the business of maintaining the nation’s critical infrastructure.

As an industry leader, we must also acknowledge the ways in which this year painfully exposed a system of racial inequities. Ulteig remains dedicated to cultivating a workplace and broader community that stands up for social justice and contributes to the greater good. Diversity, equity and inclusion are, and will be, central components to our operating model.

The employee-owners of Ulteig fiercely navigated new challenges and prioritized our clients’ success in 2020. It is a privilege to operate in this capacity and we look forward to applying what we learned this year to create even better outcomes in the years to come.
