Ulteig Internship Program Helps Build the Future Workforce

Ulteig | Real Project. Real Mentorship. Real Career Growth. Interns make their mark at Ulteig

As infrastructure systems evolve, developing the next generation of talent is more important than ever. This summer, Ulteig welcomed 77 interns who gained hands-on experience working alongside industry professionals on projects that support communities across the country.

Interns contributed across engineering, technology, business operations, accounting, marketing, human resources, and IT teams in throughout the United States. Through meaningful project work, mentorship and collaboration, they developed practical skills and a deeper understanding of the infrastructure industry.

“Being able to connect what I’ve learned in school to real engineering projects has been a valuable experience and has helped me grow as an engineer,” said Will Montgomery, Automation, Integration and System Protection Intern.

An added bonus: Interns were welcomed into a collaborative people-focused culture where they were encouraged to learn, ask questions and explore career opportunities.

“The community that is fostered at Ulteig has been one of the best parts of my internship,” said Regan Meyer, Renewables Substation Intern. “I got to learn from some of the best in the industry.”

The experience doesn’t end when summer does. Eighty-one percent of this year’s interns, representing 62 students, are continuing with Ulteig in part-time roles. Their decision to stay reflects the meaningful work, supportive culture and growth opportunities they found during the program.

Students interested in gaining hands-on experience, mentorship and meaningful career opportunities can learn more on the Ulteig Students page.
