Welcome Myron Hora

Myron Hora, Senior Transportation Planner, joined Ulteig’s office in Denver in May 2023.

What’s your background?
I was employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) in the Greeley residency for 28 years where I did construction management, inspections, testing, surveying, and reams of paperwork for seven years. This moved into Right of Way plans and surveying for an additional eight years. I retired from CDOT in 2015. I’ve been employed at an engineering firm the last seven years managing transportation planning projects and an Industrial Park feasibility study in Utah.

What made you want to join the Ulteig team?
Everyone in the industry had great things to say about Ulteig. Comments that were verified by two connections I had from working at CDOT. Everyone at Ulteig works together, which offers me the chance to engage with the engineers.

How does your past experience help you now?
I understand transportation from planning to implementation, which helps connect the dots and avoids “planning for planning sake”. I’ve made many friends and contacts along the way and can use that network to stay abreast of agency happenings.

How will your role be used to expand Ulteig’s presence in the transportation market?
I will expand the market by increasing our presence in the planning realm. That will provide us with insight into what is upcoming in CM and engineering through conversations with the agency planning staff. This will help us prepare for those projects.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy golfing, hunting, hanging out with friends and family, yard work and cooking. My wife, Colleen, and I have two daughters who are 22 and 24 years old. We have two older dogs, a miniature dachshund and a chiweenie. I’m a long time Broncos season ticket holder and love tailgating and visiting almost as much as watching the game.
