TJ Fakler on Prairie Business’s 2022 Top 40 Under 40

Thomas “TJ” Fakler, Technical Manager-Civil, has been named to Prairie Business Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list for 2022.

The 40-under-40 awards program highlights young professionals in the Upper Midwest who are making significant impacts in their chosen profession, industry and communities. Prairie Business received nearly 1,700 nominations for 2022. The final 40 on the list are “business leaders, industry experts, executives, managers, nonprofit leaders and community trendsetters.”

At Ulteig, TJ leads a team of transportation professionals that provide planning, traffic and roadway design services to clients across the country. As a leader, TJ says he strives to instill a combination of agility and technical expertise in his team.

One of TJ’s most impressive achievements was being selected as one of 18 people nationwide to participate in the prestigious Society of American Military Engineers Leader Development Program in 2020. During the program, he completed a Capstone Project focused on STEM Outreach efforts to Native American communities and secured a $75k grant from the United Engineering Foundation to support future outreach efforts.
