Day of Understanding – Gender

Days of Understanding are employee engagement events developed by the organization CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion which President & CEO Doug Jaeger and Ulteig joined last fall. These events support open dialogue on complex conversations around diversity, equity and inclusion and expand awareness of unconscious biases to foster a more inclusive workplace. Each Day of Understanding at Ulteig is being co-designed by members of Ulteig’s Culture Committee, ERGs, DEI staff and other interested team members.

Ulteig recently held a “Day of Understanding” dedicated to the topic of Gender. Several interactive events encouraged bold conversations and learning among team members. A keynote address by Nate Shalev, founder of Revel Impact, who spoke on intersecting identities.

• A presentation by Plan International USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing children’s rights and equality for girls worldwide.
• A panel of employees sharing personal experiences on the topic of gender allyship.
• An interactive session to provide learnings on gender definitions.
